NetBIOS Name Types

NetBIOS Names may be up to 15 characters long.  The 16th character, which is reserved, is the NetBIOS suffix or name type.  This is used by Microsoft Networking software to identify the type of service being registered.  Please refere to Technet article 163409 for more information.
